At Next Level Technician, we specialize in delivering high-quality low voltage solutions for commercial and industrial clients. Our services include structured cabling, access control, CCTV, audiovisual systems, and more. We are growing fast in the Austin market and are seeking a skilled and motivated Level 2 Low Voltage Technician to join our field operations team.

Position Summary:
As a Level 2 Technician, you will work closely with lead technicians and project managers to complete installations on commercial job sites. You’ll be expected to take direction, work independently when needed, and contribute to the successful and professional completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, terminate, label, and test Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling systems

  • Assist with the installation of low voltage systems, including:

  • Access control

  • IP-based CCTV and camera systems

  • AV systems (projectors, speakers, displays, etc.)

  • Intercoms and paging systems

  • Pull and route cables through ceilings, walls, and conduits

  • Interpret basic blueprints and construction drawings

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and adhere to job site safety requirements

  • Use tools such as punch-down tools, test meters, drills, fish tapes, and cable testers

  • Communicate effectively with team leads and follow project timelines and guidelines

  • Document cable runs, labeling, and terminations as needed

    Requirements:

    • 2+ years of experience in low voltage or structured cabling environments

    • Familiarity with copper and fiber optic cable installation and termination

    • Ability to follow direction and work independently on tasks

    • Basic understanding of cable testing and troubleshooting

    • Must be comfortable with ladder work, tight spaces, and physical labor

    • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license

    • Must pass a background check and drug screen

    • OSHA 10 certification is a plus

    • Basic hand tools required (tool list can be provided)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working on commercial construction sites

    • Exposure to access control systems, surveillance systems, or audiovisual installs

    • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset

    • Willingness to learn and grow into a Level 3 or Lead Technician role
