About the Role We’re seeking a motivated, hands-on Data Center Technician in Columbus Ohio to join our growing team! In this role, you’ll assist with structured cabling, equipment installation, and general support in a large-scale data center environment. You don’t need years of experience — just a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced setting.
This is a great opportunity for candidates with a background in trades, IT support, or low-voltage work who are looking to build a career in the data center industry. What You’ll Do
Assist with pulling, routing, and securing CAT6 and fiber optic cabling
Perform basic cable terminations under supervision (copper & fiber)
Support rack-and-stack work: installing servers, switches, and power units
Label, organize, and dress cables to meet site standards
Perform physical inspections to identify and report issues
Keep tools, workspaces, and cable storage areas clean and organized
Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE on active job sites
Work closely with team leads and follow daily task assignments
Qualifications Required:
Strong attention to detail and basic mechanical skills
Comfortable working on ladders, in tight spaces, or around active equipment
Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment
Willingness to learn and work physically throughout the shift
Reliable transportation and punctuality
Preferred (but not required):
Experience with low-voltage cabling, construction, or IT support
Familiarity with hand tools (crimpers, testers, punch-down tools)
Previous exposure to data center or telecom environments
Work Conditions
May involve standing, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
Work may be performed in raised floor or overhead environments
Night shift, weekend, or flexible scheduling may be required
