Next Level Technician is urgently hiring Low Voltage Cable Technicians for a long-term opportunity in Charlotte, NC!

BAS Technicians at Next Level Technician will be working at a variety of Commercial and Industrial sites. These sites can include schools, hospitals, offices, retail stores, and industrial plants and warehouses. Each site and scope of work will be unique and add to the skillset and knowledge of the BAS Technician!

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform professional conduit bending and installation (EMT, rigid, flex) using manual and powered benders to support system infrastructure.
  • Pull, terminate, and test low-voltage and control cabling, including CAT6, 18-2 shielded, 18-3 shielded, and lighting control conductors (e.g., 14–12 AWG THHN).
  • Install, wire, and configure BAS control panels and field devices, including sensors, actuators, relays, and lighting controllers.
  • Program, configure, and commission Johnson Controls FX Series controllers (e.g., FX-PCG, FX-PCX, FX Supervisory Controllers).
  • Utilize relay logic to implement sequences for HVAC, lighting, and emergency override systems.
  • Integrate and support BFE (Building Fire/Emergency) system interfaces—including shutdowns, overrides, and smoke control.
  • Interpret electrical blueprints, panel schedules, riser diagrams, and sequences of operation.
  • Collaborate with HVAC technicians, electricians, and project managers during system installations and upgrades.
  • Support system commissioning, functional testing, and service calls.
  • Maintain clean, labeled, and code-compliant installations and accurate documentation of as-builts and configurations.
  • Follow safety regulations and ensure all work meets NEC and local code standards.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training in HVAC, electrical systems, or automation preferred.
  • Proficient in conduit bending and installation for control and lighting systems.
  • Experienced in pulling and terminating CAT6, 18-2/18-3 shielded, and lighting conductors.
  • Skilled in relay logic for control systems, overrides, and interlocks.
  • Hands-on experience with Johnson Controls FX Series controllers and familiarity with CCT and Launcher tools.
  • Knowledge of BACnet MS/TP, BACnet/IP, and other building automation communication protocols.
  • Familiarity with BFE system interfaces and life safety integration.
  • Competent in reading wiring diagrams and interpreting building plans.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Tridium Niagara N4 experience or certification.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification.
  • Experience with other BAS platforms such as Siemens, Honeywell, or Trane.
  • IP networking knowledge and basic IT troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience in lighting control systems such as Lutron, Wattstopper, or Enlighted is a plus.
